About Me

Thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio, here you will find that I am a versatile professional with over 10 years of success in Information Technology. My experience in IT has been very broad, there are very few areas that I have not worked in at one point or another.

My first role in IT was a one-man stop for a small nonprofit organization. This included end user issues, application support, as well as network and server setup and support. I was also tasked with vetting and exploring future IT needs and requirements, determining whether other implementations are cost effective and can integrate into the current systems.

From there I have started working with a much larger nonprofit organization where I do all of that and then some on a much more extensive scale. With this organization my role has heavily changed to focus on infrastructure services such as virtualization, cloud computing, and identity management. I do have a small team to work with which includes a help desk so I do not have to deal with end user support nearly as much but some issues still require extra assistance and that is where I step in.

My technical strengths are;

I look forward to hearing from you if you believe my skills and abilities will benefit your team or organization. Feel free to contact me for any additional information or clarifications and I will get back to you promptly, please see the CONTACT ME page.

Other

IT Security

I'm going to handle this category a little differently. IT's primary purpose is to improve the capabilities of the rest of the organization. Counter to that is IT security. It's a delicate balancing act between usability and security. My approach to security is always have security in mind when doing anything. Then counter the usability aspect of it and the risks involved. Find the acceptable "sweet spot" so to speak, then document it.

DR Planning and Management

This is another category that I'm going to handle a little differently. Disaster recovery also need to be considered from the start of any project. Then needs review quite frequently. The demands of the application usually change regularly. The risk and type of risk to applications and organizations changes quite frequently. A good disaster recovery plan needs to be flexible to meet the environmental needs.
